Governance - Policy
Kesha chaired the grassroots organization, Racing 4 Equity, for the first five years before stepping down to pursue her Masters in Public Administration.
She has chaired the city of Jackson’s Racial Equity Commission since it’s first meeting in 2021.
Kesha was elected to the local School Board in November of 2020 to a 6 year term which will end in Dec. of 2026.
She has created or participates with various committees and groups where her visionary leadership, impassioned impromptu speeches and laser sharp guidance contributes to the direction of each space she occupies.

Relationship & Parenting
Kesha is a mom to six bi-racial children, after having been in a bi-racial marriage for 16 years. While the experiences of being in a bi-racial relationship gave her a front row seat to a different culture – the experience of being a stay at home wife and mom to various personalities, a homeschooling parent, a Sunday school teacher, choir member and director and analytically observant human being – what has emerged is an intense interest and deep dive into relationships, boundaries setting, prioritizations and intentionality.
