How do you successfully juggle all the things while being a mom?
This is one of my most common questions I receive.
As a proud mom to six beautiful humans, 4 young ladies and 2 young men, my success in juggling my responsibilities with my priority – is in always remembering my priority. My children are my priority, they’ve always been my happy place, their presence keeps me grounded – because I have made that a strong boundary – with everything else secondary – I have found success.
Undoubtedly – I define success differently than most – and that makes a difference.
Tell me more about the Racial Equity Commission?
The Racial Equity Commission is an official commission of the City of Jackson, MI government. We were established via an unanimous vote of city council in September of 2020 after a spring and summer of a social media campaign led by myself and supported by Racing 4 Equity.
The Racial Equity Commission ordinance directs that we review and create city policies, practices and procedures through a racial equity lens that are then suggested and or presented to the mayor, city manager and council for adoption.
I have chaired the Racial Equity Commission since its inception.
